Chandigarh administration has given new year gift to its employees working in union territory.
Chandigarh: After the announcement of DA by Punjab Government on 21/12/2016. Chandigarh administration also announced dearness allowance for its employees working in different boards and departments. Prior to this the employees were getting DA 125% of their basic salary. Now following Punjab government decision Chandigarh Administration also increased DA from 125% to 132%. The total increment in DA is 7%. While there is happiness on the face of employees, but still there is a anger amongst the employees who want DA from July 2016. DA for the month from July to December 2016 has been lapsed due to Punjab government decision. Punjab Goverment has not given DA for the month July to December 2016. Chandigarh administration also announced DA for its employees same as Punjab. Now the increased DA will be applicable from 1st January 2017. Some employees unions are protesting against this season of Administration, because according to the rule DA must be given twicw in a year i.e. in the month of January and July.
